Around this time two years ago, we were packing our bags (last minute like always) and were on our way to the birthing center. At 7:35 that night we met the most amazing little human who has complemented our family so well. She is spunky and loving and joyful. I can’t wait to slave over many more birthday cakes in her lifetime. She is worth it and then some. Happy 2nd birthday, Evie Lou. You’re my favorite. Uggamugga.
I read a portion of a parenting book a few days ago that basically said don’t let your kids in the kitchen to play, taste, etc. because you don’t want to spoil their appetite and you want them to ‘respect’ food. To that I say ‘poo poo.’ Some of our favorite family times are the times we’re crammed into the kitchen, cooking good food, tasting the ingredients, ev standing in a chair on her tiptoes playing in the sink. These are the memories I will cherish when I’m old and I won’t give them up or the sake of proper parenting.
I’m content, but always dreaming. I'm crafty, but always procrastinating. I’m a goal-setter, list-maker, aspiring runner, and voracious reader. I love all things vintage, hand-written letters, photography, and adventuring with my little family.
We started out Husband and Wife, but as you would expect when two best friends wed, have now taken on the titles of Mama and Papa.
The tiny one in the picture is our Evangeline. She joined us February 1st and has been turning our world upside down ever since. She's spunky, loud, and wiggly, and loves milk, clean diapers, and car rides, but hates naps. (Go figure.)
We believe in God, family, and the simple things in life (like a good pair of cowboy boots).
Alex is an Airman.
I’m an Artist.
We dream big, work hard, and love passionately.
